We are excited to announce that Cheltenham Fencing has rebranded as Walford Timber.

Since 2004, Cheltenham Fencing has proudly served the people of Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, and the surrounding areas as part of the Walford Timber family. This year, as we celebrate 80 years as a trusted, family-run business, we have united all our branches under a single name: Walford Timber.

Why Rebrand?

Cheltenham Fencing was established in 2004 as a sales outlet for Walford Timber Ltd. Since then, the business has grown and diversified. While traditional yard sales remain central to what we do, the company has also embraced selling through its website and other digital channels — platforms that have evolved significantly since the business first opened.

Walford Timber Ltd, founded in 1945, remains family-owned and operated. As manufacturers and suppliers of fencing and outdoor timber products, we have served stockists, installers, property owners, tradespeople, and the general public from our Wye Valley location since the beginning.

In the late 1990s, Walford Timber acquired a Gloucester-based fencing supplier called Finch Fencing to expand its regional sales network. In 2003, we developed the current Cheltenham site as a specialist fencing and timber yard. Upon its completion in early 2004, the Finch Fencing staff were transferred to the new site on Old Gloucester Road, and Cheltenham Fencing was born.

In 2017, we further extended our reach by acquiring G & M.B. Manning in Buckinghamshire.

Now, as we celebrate 80 years since the founding of Walford Timber, we have decided to unify all branches under a single trading name: Walford Timber. This decision reflects our commitment to honouring the company’s rich heritage, simplifying our branding and messaging, and streamlining and enhancing our digital presence.

What Does This Mean for You?

At our physical sites, the only changes you will notice are new signage, uniforms, and vehicle livery. The same great team will continue to serve you, providing the same high-quality products. We will now be branded as the Cheltenham branch of Walford Timber Ltd.

In the coming months, we will introduce further website improvements and developments to enhance your customer experience and make purchasing even easier. Whether you visit us in person, call, or email, we look forward to continuing to serve you in the way that works best for you.
