Celebrating Robert Benjamin's Long Service

We are thrilled to announce that our colleague Robert Benjamin celebrated 40 years of continuous service at our partner company Walford Timber Ltd last week. Robert joined the business in June 1982 as a trainee Saw Doctor, gaining his qualifications over the following years to become a Senior Saw Doctor and Timber Machinist.

Robert followed his father Bob into the business, who himself worked for the business for 48 years before his retirement, which has resulted in a continuous presence of at least one member of the Benjamin family for 70 of the company’s 77-year history, a truly magnificent achievement.

At a special presentation for Robert, George Smith (Managing Director) paid homage to Robert’s loyalty, dedication, and service to the company over the past four decades. George also acknowledged that Robert was joining a special club, as he is now one of four current employees to have worked for the business for over 40 years and one of seven to have worked for more than 25 years.

George Presented Robert with a special gift to show the company’s appreciation. The occasion was celebrated with colleagues at The Mill Race in Walford, Herefordshire.
