Using woodchip as mulch

Using woodchip as mulch can protect plant roots from frost damage during the winter months as well as the scorching heat of the summer.

Woodchip composts slowly and will only need to be topped up occasionally once it has been applied.

Using woodchip as mulch also helps to aerate and enrich the soil, effectively assisting in stimulation of plant growth. This is because mulched plants and trees grow faster than those that have not been mulched.
