How do I measure a fence panel?
If you are replacing an existing fence panel, all you need to do is measure the height and width of the fence panel using a good-quality tape measure. A good fencing supplier should stock a range of different sizes and styles of fence panel. If you can’t find the size you need, you may need a made-to-measure panel – we can help with this as well, just give us a call on 01989 563614.

How do I measure a full fence?
Installing a full fence can be a lot more time-consuming than replacing the odd fence panel, but it’s important to get your measurements right as mistakes can end up being costly. As the old adage goes, Measure twice, cut once!
Decide which panels and posts you wish to buy and note down the measurements.
Using string, mark out a straight line along the fenceline you want to create, secure the string with stakes or pegs and record the distance, either with a tape measure or measuring wheel.
Calculate how many full fence panels will fit within the marked distance. Remember to leave room for the width of one post per panel plus an extra starting post e.g. if you need 4 panels, you will need 5 posts.
If after these calculations your fence panels and posts don’t fit neatly into your desired fenceline length, you will need a custom fence panel to finish off. But don’t worry, we can help! Get in touch and we’ll be more than happy to discuss your needs.
